About shipping
Shipping from China to all over the world, such as Europe and America, can be done by sea freight or air freight. We usually quote EXWORK price, we can also do door to door service (DDU) if customer made the request.
We have long term relationship logistic companies work with, but most of the customer prefers to use their own logistic company, both options are fine by me.
About payment
The business between 2 companies in different countries needs a lot of trust on each other, so the payment term have to be fair enough to each party, typical payment term of ACO Mold:
1. Deposit 50% of tooling cost, with that cost, we can start DFM, mold design, mold making, sampling.
2. 50% of tooling cost after sample/mold approved.
3. Deposit 50% of production cost, with that cost, we can purchase resin, produce the parts.
4. 50% of production cost before shipping.
About packaging
We will just pack them into neutral carton box and labeled. If you want to do retail packing, please send us your packing design. We can't do it in house, but we do have some reliable packing suppliers for it.
Who is the owner of stay-in-house injection mold?
All our molds are made exclusively for customers, and all molds belong to the customer who paid it. ACO Mold would do storage for free for the coming production order in the future, the customer are free to relocate the mold. If you like, we can make a signed agreement.
How does it work with contract?
Regarding the contract, usually it is issued by customers, most of the customer will just ask only the invoice to start. Seeing the attached invoice for your project, it is very clear with all term, price and signature in it.
ACO Mold will put all the cost in the attached invoice so you can have an idea all the cost in total to get the goods done and shipped to you factory, NO ANY OTHER BINDING COST.
What does DFM mean?
DFM means design for manufacturability. It will give you brief idea graphically of the mold design, such as the part line, gating, ejection way etc., before we actually start 3D mold design. Once DFM is approved by customer, we start mold design immediately.
Injection molds for export VS Injection molds for stay-in-house production
We have shipped many injection molds to US before, but for all of these molds, customer would let us know in advance the mold will be shipped to US for production, so the mold was designed in DME standard, not LKM standard in China. We assume the production will be in house so the mold was designed and made to adapt to our machine. If customer wants to run the mold in US, we have to make sure the mold can adopt the molder's machine in US.
Mold shipped to European must be in HASCO standard, mold shipped to US must be DME standard, mold in Asia usually LKM standard.
In addition, the price could be 2-3 times differences. For the production mold, we try to make the mold as cheap as possible but parts comes out the mold must be good enough, this is the bottom line. Sometimes, we use hand load core (you knew it), or slightly smaller size steel/plate, or cheap steel, aluminum, and we can customized all the mold components or use the easiest alternative solution. For export mold, for example, mold made to run in US, we need to make it DME standard, we need to buy mold base from LKM--the biggest and best mold base supplier in Asia, we need to use the ejector pins, slider limitation part...etc...in INCH standard so that customers can easily get replacement at local when the mold run in US, even the packing /processing process/documentation ...are different.
If the production volume is high, exceed 50K to 100K, the best way would be just purchasing molds from us and do molding in US. If the production volume less than 20K, we propose to do molding in our factory. Of course, that's just our proposal, all decisions up to the customers after the quotation made.
